Project #1 Hallucination Room

What I was attempting to accomplish was a sense of disorientation for the viewer. By projecting at a lower angle, hopefully, the viewer is comfortable with the angular placement of these images. once we introduce subtle vfx methods to make certain objects in the images protrude out before returning to their original positions.

I chose to do this because it is my understanding that an out of body experience that’s provided by being in a hallucinatory state of mind isn’t always triggered by radically changing shapes and sounds. In fact, it is more disturbing, sometimes, to watch the material world slowly morph in front of your eyes. This way, you’re less likely to feel like you’re losing complete control over what you’re observing. Instead, it just feels like you might have to rub your eyes for a second to really believe what you’re seeing. At least, that was the idea.

The reality of the situation is that, what would help sell the experience better, in my opinion, is incorporating perspective shifts in addition to the already existing editing techniques.  What works is the angle chosen and the clip of the sewer pipe. The hole in the road; not as much.
